Nanaimo Forklift Instructor Training - Forklift Instructor training certification is recommended for forklift operators who wish to become instructors. In order to qualify for forklift instructor training, operators should be able to prove they have a high level of knowledge regarding forklift equipment and have good forklift driving skills. Instructor training normally is held at an equipment sales facility or at the campus of a community college, junior college, or vocational or technical school. Forklift manufacturing companies sometimes provide practical, hands-on, train-the-trainer programs.

Whether offered in a classroom setting or at a manufacturing business facility, registering for the course will involve paying a tuition fee, and buying manuals, book or other materials. Program length differs depending on the program. Participants generally should have satisfactory participation, demonstration, and test scores throughout the course in order to qualify for trainer certification.

It is assumed that the trainee taking the instructor course would have prior experience operating forklifts. The topics of teaching techniques, ethics, safety issues and curriculum design would be the main focus during the instructor training course. People participating will learn how to demonstrate to their students various aspects of lift truck utilization, like stacking and moving materials or navigating the lift truck in narrow aisles. People participating would know how to assess student's written tests and demonstrations of their forklift operating skills. The program objective is to be able to prepare trainers to create and implement their own forklift training courses.

Some self-study of the machinery and instruction manuals is required. Trainers would be expected to create their own curriculum, that meets regulation guidelines when it comes to topics presented, like for example Safety and Operation. Like for instance, the topic of Safety must include an understanding of how to identify possible dangers. The subject of Operation comprises instruction regarding maneuvering and steering, connecting and using and instruments and controls of the fork.
